About the Event

Deshyoga Charitable Trust, followers of Swami Vivekananda, shall be celebrating Vivek Navyug Divas. Over the course of the last 5 years, We have influenced thousands of lives through Swamiji's teachings and wish to bring to light his famous Chicago speech that took place on September 11, 1893. His words hold remarkable relevance even in today's societies and can be the pathway to a healthy and prosperous life for anyone.

Beginning with the words "Sisters and Brothers of America", the speech managed to eliminate the difference between Swamiji's status as a person belonging to a different nation and religion. In today's times, Swamiji's speech serves as a beacon of light and a 'source of truth' for the nations and the leaders to help them implement strategies, formulate policies and take corrective steps to bring their citizen together, in order to help build bridges with other nations.

The speech by Swamiji has been often referred to by leaders from across the globe even in present times. It reminds people of the values Swamiji's speech stood for and are the most critical in today's times. These values include compassion, brotherhood, tolerance, and acceptance.
